LANCASTER — The 132nd Bolton Fair will take place Aug. 8-10 at the Lancaster Fairgrounds in Lancaster.

Bolton Fair President Rose Darden said, “The Bolton Fair continues to be a great value for families to enjoy a day at the fair. Many new and exciting entertainments are here this year including a demolition derby, monster truck show and great bands such as Danny Klein Full House, founding member and one-and-only Ace On Bass for the mighty J. Geils Band. These are all included in the price of admission.”

For one low price, a fairgoer can enjoy all that the Bolton Fair has to offer during the entire weekend with a multi-day pass. These passes and regular price admission tickets will continue to be available on the website through the fair weekend.

The Bolton Fair is open Aug. 8-10 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily (midway until 10 p.m.). The Midway is additionally open on Thursday, August 9, from 5-10 p.m.

Since its inception in 1874, the Bolton Fair has been held annually to promote awareness of agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry. The fair, which is run by volunteers, remains true to those 19th century roots and features cattle and sheep shows, goat and poultry exhibits, horse and oxen pulls, and the exhibit hall. Proceeds from the fair are used to benefit local organizations, scholarships and prizes to exhibitors. The Bolton Fair, Inc. is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization.

The fairgrounds are four miles west of Route 495 on Route 117. Take exit 27 off Interstate 495 and follow the signs to the Lancaster Fairgrounds and the Bolton Fair. Parking is free.

Ticket prices are Friday, Saturday and Sunday: Adults, $10; seniors, $6; ages 7-12, $5; military personnel, $5; ages 6 and under are free. Multi-day passes (good all three days): Adults, $15; ages 7-12, $9.

Discount tickets: The Bolton Fair has made available discount tickets for gate admission on its website enabling fairgoers to save up to 30 percent off an adult admission. Tickets can be obtained by going to and making your selection. These tickets are on sale only until July 31 and enables the fairgoer to print their tickets right at home.
